How we check
- Step 1
Pull the public record
Business filings, trade directories and venue vendor lists give us the starting list.
- Step 2
Keep the production crews
Only metro Atlanta companies that run sound, lights, video, stages or crew make the cut. No planners, DJs or party rentals.
- Step 3
Check their own sites
Each company's website tells us what it offers, which events it does and how to contact it.
- Step 4
Flag what’s missing
If a detail can't be confirmed, the listing says “Not confirmed yet” instead of guessing.
Licenses and insurance are outside what we check, and a listing isn't a recommendation. Company owners can claim their page and fix it whenever they like. The full checking rules.
How to hire an event production company in Atlanta
Six things to settle before you sign a production quote.
-
Describe the event first
Give every company the same brief: the venue, the headcount, the schedule and what happens on stage. A hotel ballroom keynote, a church conference and a festival in a park call for very different gear and crews, so ask what they’ve done that’s close to yours.
-
Find out what’s theirs
Most companies own the core of their inventory and sub-rent the rest. That’s normal. What matters is who’s responsible if a sub-rented piece fails during the show.
-
Know who’s on the crew
Ask who mixes, who runs lights and who calls the show, and how many people come for load-in, the show and load-out.
-
Get the insurance certificate early
Venues often want a certificate of insurance on file before load-in. Ask early, and make sure the dates and the venue name on it are right.
-
Make them itemize
Each of these should get its own line: gear, labor, overtime, and the load-in and load-out times. Send the same brief to two or three companies so the quotes line up.
-
Read the venue’s rules
Some venues are union houses, some cap rigging points or weight, and some insist on their in-house AV. Get the venue’s production rules and pass them to every company you’re talking to.
Questions about event production in Atlanta
How do companies get on this list?
We build the list from industry sources and public business records, then keep the metro Atlanta companies that do live production, and read each one's website for services and contact details. Being listed is free, and nobody can pay to rank higher. How we check companies.
Event production company or event planner: what’s the difference?
A production company handles the technical side: sound, lights, video and LED walls, stages and rigging, plus the crew who set it up and run it. A planner handles the guest side, like the venue, food, invitations and the schedule. Plenty of events use both, and planners regularly bring in production companies.
What does event production cost in Atlanta?
It comes down to the gear, the crew and how many days you need, counting load-in and load-out. To compare fairly, send the same brief to two or three companies and line up their itemized quotes.
What does “Not confirmed yet” mean on a listing?
Public sources didn't confirm that detail. The company may well offer it, so ask them. If it's your company, send us the right details.
How are area pages ordered?
Town by town, starting with the town that has the most companies. Within each town, the order follows Google ratings adjusted for how many reviews each company has, so a few glowing reviews don’t outrank a long track record. Companies without a rating come after. Nobody pays for position.
